Very nice fresh fish, however very slow service. Lovely view not many tables and only 2 sitings for the evening so booking is essential. The soft drinks were very limited unless you like J20 (no non alcoholic ginger beer). Friendly staff, nice meal, would go again.
Food quality was OK. Scampi was more like fish goujons, Crab sandwich had some weird dressing that took away the taste of the crab, Skate with the Caper and lemon butter sauce was nice although a bit small.Big minus is the quality of service! Once we had mains it took a good 20 minutes before anyone came over to clear the plates, not asking if we would like dessert, we asked them! We continued to sit at the table for another 20 minutes, there was no eye contact or acknowledgement from the staff that they would return to the table. Left after this!If the owner of Shoalstone reads this then another member of staff for service would be a good idea.
Idyllic location. Open until 10.30pm. Really soulful place. Would highly recommend. Lido in front has just been refurbished. Pay and display 100 metres away with public toilets!
